There's an Electric Car in Your Future

Kick Gas! In Annapolis.Annapolis Green is excited to bring you National Drive Electric Week, September 26-October 4, a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of and options for driving electric! EVs are fun to drive and one of the best things you can do to mitigate Climate Change. Besides, they’re becoming pretty normal now, not to mention, stylish, convenient, and less expensive than you think! We think that’s pretty Kick Gas! 

In the West Street Recovery Zone, 4 to 6 EVs will be parked on the Street while it’s closed to car traffic but open for outdoor dining. The EV owners will answer questions about their cars. (Everybody will be required to wear a mask.) Learn about the benefits of driving electric — for your wallet and the planet and be prepared to be surprised! Hey, it’s electric!

And how about this… enjoy an EV-themed drink while supporting our local restaurants!

  • The Supercharger from 49 West: Rise Up espresso, vodka, and coffee liqueur!
  • The Cosmocello from Luna Blu: Limoncello,  lemon vodka and a splash of cranberry
  • The Electric Grandmother from Tsunami: Just Guess what’s in it!
  • The Solar Cell from Stan & Joe’s: Fresh squeezed orange juice with orange vodka and a splash of soda water — a great way to recharge your batteries!

There's an Electric Car in Your Future

Kick Gas! In Annapolis.Join Annapolis Green for Kick Gas! as we bring you National Drive Electric Week, September 26-October 4. We’re part of a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of driving electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. EVs are fun to drive and one of the best things you can do to mitigate Climate Change! And… they are perfectly normal, cheaper than you think, stylish and easy. We think that’s pretty Kick Gas!

On October 1 we’ll Zoom in and virtually showcase various models of the more than 40 plug-in vehicles available today in a fun, interactive way. Hear from owners and learn what driving electric is all about.

Coming to you from the brand new Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library on West Street we’ll Zoom in and virtually showcase various models of the more than 40 plug-in vehicles available today in a fun, interactive way. Hear from owners and learn what driving electric is all about. Take a virtual test drive!

Not your typical Zoom meeting – ours will be fun AND informative:

  • EV 101 – how driving electric is good for the environment and your wallet
  • How driving electric is good for the climate and your health
  • Anne Arundel County Library CEO Skip Auld, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley and Maryland Secretary of the Environment Ben Grumbles will open the event.
    • Learn more about the BGE-County-City partnership that led to the installation of charging stations in public areas such as the library and see a ribbon cutting to officially inaugurate the them.

EVs Hit the Avenue – 6 – 8 pm
In the Maryland Avenue Recovery Zone, 4 to 6 EVs will be parked on the Avenue while it is closed to car traffic but open for outdoor dining. The EV owners (and dealers) will answer questions about their cars. (Everybody will be required to wear a mask.) Learn about the benefits of driving electric — for your wallet and the planet.

Among the vehicles you’ll see: Chevrolet Bolt (including a Bolt police patrol car!), Tesla Model S, WV e-Golf, customized Chevrolet Volt, and a Harley-Davidson LiveWire all-electric motorcycle.

Stop by Annapolis Founding One Hundred supporter Galway Bay Irish Restaurant on Maryland Avenue for a delicious dinner under the stars (or inside) to benefit Annapolis Green! Make a reservation or just walk in and tell the server you’re there for the Annapolis Green fundraiser. This also applies to take-out. See the great three-course $25 fixed price menu.

Galway will have great music from 6 to 9pm: Timmie Metz, who is featured in a fun music video at our October 1 event.
