Join the Watershed Stewards Academy’s Tree Troopers for an Invasive Species Q&A via Google Meet featuring Bud Reaves, Anne Arundel County Forester, and Craig Highfield, the Director of Forest Programs for the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.
They will discuss invasive plant species, how they affect our forest canopy, and how to properly control them. In preparation for the conversation, review these great resources that the Anne Arundel County Weed Resistance put together for Class 12 Steward Candidates: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
To join, please RSVP to Alyssa Brummitt: cont-abrummitt@aacps.org.

We’re cooking up a great way for us to get together — it’s a virtual Green Drinks on Facebook Watch, Thursday, April 2!
Going online, we’re focusing on “The Flowers and the Trees” to follow our February Green Drinks theme which was “The Birds and the Bees.” And although the flowers are beautiful and in bloom, we’ll turn our attention to the trees, highlighting all the benefits trees give us.
So, join us in the spirit of trying something new in our emerging virtual world and to have some fun while learning great things!

Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy is a great opportunity to learn how to solve environmental problems in your community and find a local network of energized leaders. WSA’s hands-on, research-based certification course gives Stewards the tools to implement change in their communities, turning knowledge into action.
Want to get off the sidelines and make a real change? Master Watershed Stewards serve Anne Arundel County communities by installing landscape projects that reduce pollution and organizing campaigns to encourage habits that make a difference. Collectively, these community-based actions reduce pollution at its source and improve the health of the entire Chesapeake Bay.
You don’t have to be an expert, WSA will show you the way!
