Zero-Waste is the New Par!

We Greened The Brick Companies’ TBC classic, a golf tournament at Queenstown Harbor that involved 288 golfers on two beautiful courses on the shores of the Chester River. Queenstown Golf is the recipient of the Environmental Leader in Golf Award and is one of the Greenest courses in the country. Golfers teed off on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, to find a number of sustainable practices in place as part of our Golf Responsibly program.

Positive Comments from Golfers
in a post-tournament survey:

This was a great focus, given the reason for the fund raiser. It made us all "walk the talk."

Possibly the best part. Sometimes it takes showing how to be zero waste to realize it is achievable.

Annapolis Green, working with the Brick Companies, implemented sustainable practices such as:

The Brick Companies (TBC), an Annapolis Green Founding One Hundred Sponsor, awarded us a grant to develop the program, suggest a number of sustainable practices, and produce a toolkit so Golf Responsibly can be replicated elsewhere. In addition, we were awarded a grant from Waste Management to Green two additional tournaments next year.

We congratulate TBC for its Environmental Leadership ethic – “Preserve and conserve unique natural spaces that reconnect people to the land and inspire others to do the same,” in all it does – from installing the area’s first Green Roof to everyday operational practices that are carried out with the Earth in mind. And, we thank TBC for its continued support of Annapolis Green.

The NAPTOWN TAP at the TBC Classic was sponsored by What’s Up Media.

We'd also like thank Jim Seerey of Evolution Bags for providing the compostable bags for this event.
