Sign up to become a Volunteer Naturalist at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary for the Classrooms in The Field programs. The program requires a background check, availability 2-3 weekdays a month in Spring and Fall, attending training sessions, and shadowing experienced Naturalists on field trips. Learn more here.

Join Save Our Trees to help save trees by removing invasive ivy. Bring gloves and loppers if you have then. Wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts. No experience necessary. All are welcome. In 2020, Scenic Rivers Land Trust took action to remediate and control the threat that invasive plants pose on the health of Bacon Ridge Natural Area. First, teams of volunteers mapped and identified invasive plant infestations along Bacon Ridge’s 15+ miles of publicly accessible trails. Roughly 20 acres of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's 283-acre Clagett Farm regenerative farm is dedicated to the vegetable operation, which maintaining takes a lot of hands. The far is asking for volunteers to work on the vegetable operation since it has a direct impact on protecting local waterways, mitigating climate change, and supporting food equity in our local communities.
