This year the speaker is Shannon Currey, a horticultural educator, who will discuss lead a look at native plant-based solutions to common landscape challenges. She advises that rather than oceans of mulch and vast expanses of turf grass, try using use native grasses and sedges. Tickets: $50. Proceeds benefit Unity Gardens' grants program. Meeting on Banning Single-Use Plastic Bags in Anne Arundel County
