The Wild Turkey in Maryland: History, Biology, and Management
March 11 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Turkeys in Maryland were once abundant. By the early 1900s they were nearly extirpated, meaning extinct in the state. The restoration of the wild turkey is one of the greatest conservation success stories of all-time.
The Maryland Natural History Society presents Bob Long, Wild Turkey and Upland Game Bird Biologist for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, will summarize the dramatic comeback of the species and also discuss the biology and current management of these fascinating birds.
