28th Annual Environmental Legislative Summit
January 25 at 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Do you believe that every Marylander has a right to a healthful environment? Do you believe that reducing the effects of Climate Change and reducing toxic chemical pollution is a part of that right? Do you want to know what your state legislators are doing about environmental issues?
Tune in to the 2022 Maryland Environmental Legislative Summit to get a preview of the environmental community’s priority legislation this session. A big crowd is expected for this virtual event, gathering online to hear great speakers. This is the best way to kick off the Maryland General Assembly legislative session!
The Summit is sponsored by the coalition of Maryland environmental groups known as CCE (Citizens Campaign for the Environment) that includes Annapolis Green. Learn about and rally for passage of important environmental bills in the General Assembly’s 2022 session including:
- Increasing Maryland’s greenhouse gas reduction requirements to 60% below 2006 levels by 2030 and net neutral by 2045;
- Restricting the use and disposal of toxic PFAS, “forever chemicals,” that are contaminating our water and putting Maryland families at risk.
- Amending the Maryland state constitution to protect each person’s right to a healthful environment; and
- Ensuring that the State Budget, including incoming federal dollars, prioritize the environment and environmental justice.
There will be presentations by both environmental advocates and leading members of the General Assembly.
