Chesapeake Bay Program

The Chesapeake Bay Program is a unique regional partnership that has led and directed the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay since 1983. A multi-agency program led by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Chesapeake Bay Program works with leaders and experts from a vast range of groups work across political boundaries to restore the Bay, showing that a cooperative approach is an effective way to achieve environmental results. By working together with its partners. CBF promotes a more complete understanding of Bay issues and can use limited resources more effectively. The Bay Program’s partnership model has been recognized and emulated worldwide and has served as the prototype for EPA’s National Estuaries Program.
