10th Annual Maryland Day
March 24-26, 2017
This weekend Maryland Day weekend is being presented in Annapolis and South County by the Four Rivers Heritage Area. The theme is Made in Maryland and there will be 38 events on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Many of the locations, from the Naval Academy to to the Chesapeake Children's Museum and many more, will be open for free or with an admission charge of just one dollar. There will also be a flag raising ceremony on City Dock, business specials, and a tour of the Maryland State House. There will be lots of events for families. It's a great way to experience what this part of our state has to offer ... at a discount.
Maryland Day is a collaborative event sponsored by Four Rivers Heritage Area including Annapolis, London Town & South County. From historic sites and cultural activities to natural resources and conservation, Four Rivers Heritage Area offers something for every member of the family over this annual weekend celebration of all things "Maryland."
Maryland Day grows a little Greener each year… signaled by the addition of a green petal on the Black-Eyed Susan logo. The green petal signifies Maryland Day’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Annapolis Green is working with Four Rivers Heritage Area as events and sites strive to make the weekend as eco-friendly as possible.
As you attend Maryland Day weekend venues and events, thank you leaving the lightest footprint possible!
- Bring your reusable water bottle and coffee cup
- Pack your reusable bag for your purchases
- Carpool, and bring friends
- If it’s a warm weekend, ride your bike
- Recycle while you visit
- Don’t forget to thank the sites for doing the right thing! (Being a responsible visitor and consumer while “on the go” creates demand!)
We’re fortunate to live where we do on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. We have a responsibility to be good stewards of our land and waters when we’re at home and on the go. Setting an example during our state’s day of celebration is the right thing to do!
