Annapolis Green Night
Friday, August 24
7:05 p.m., Prince George's Stadium, 4101 Crain Highway, Bowie (directions)
We had a blast at the Bowie Baysox game and the Baysox won! Thanks to all who attended to support Annapolis Green. And a huge thanks to Russell Rankin who brought an eCruiser to be our "display table." Lots of kids & parents stopped by, including our Board member Charlie Birney and his family and Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen and his daughter, Naomi. Baysox mascots Rocko and Louie came by as did the Ship’s Company chanteymen.
Top row, left to right: Mascot Louie "driving" Isabel Birney and Naomi and Josh Cohen; Kristin Foringer of the Chesapeake Bay Trust with Mascot Rocko; Mascot Louie and Elvia Thompson. Bottom: Lynne Forsman and Ship's Company chanteymen, tipping their hats to Annapolis Green.
Russell Rankin of eCruisers is a great supporter of Annapolis Green, flying our banners on his electric vehicles whenever he can. These great electric cars always draw a crowd – on or off the road!
Annapolis Green partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the with the Bowie Baysox, a Double A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, to help raise money for the Chesapeake Bay restoration effort. Thsoe who bought tickets for the Friday, August 24 home game (7:05 p.m.) against the Harrisburg Senators, and used the Special Offer Code GREEN, made a $5 donation to Annapolis Green! It was great fun and the game was followed by Fireworks and Flames! The night was also War of 1812 so the Chanteymen kicked it off with an 1812 rendition of what is now our national anthem.
CBT partnered with other great local groups this season too, including the Annapolis Maritime Museum, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Chesapeake Ecology Center, and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.
